I wanna grow old with you

Why do we close our eyes when we sleep? When we cry?
When we imagine? When we kiss?
This is because the most beautiful things in the world are unseen.
-Unknown

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird
and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours,
we join up with them and fall in
mutual weirdness and call it love.

All of this wedding stuff has me crying right and left. I cant even hear silly songs without having a memory and starting to cry. Hopefully I'll get it all out before the wedding. =]

I'm so happy Garrett is the man I'm going to marry. I've never met someone who makes me smile every single day. Someone who can make my heart skip a beat just by looking at me.. I'm so happy that every night I get to share a bed with this remarkable man.

June 6th cant get here soon enough. I still have tons to do.. but I'm so excited. It feels like I'm getting to live my fantasy... finally

I wanna make you smile,
Whenever you're sad.
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad.
All I wanna do,
Is grow old with you.

I'll get you medicine,
When your tummy aches.
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks.
Oh it could be so nice,
Growin' old with you.

I'll miss you, kiss you,
Give you my coat when you are cold.
Need you, feed you.
Even let you hold the remote control.
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink.
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink.
Oh I could be the man,
Who grows old with you.

I wanna grow old with you.
-Adam Sandler(the wedding singer)

I don't know how I survived
In this cold and empty world
For all this time
I only know that I'm alive
Because you love me

When I recall what I've been through
There's some things
That I wish I didn't do
Now I do the things I do
Because you love me

And now that you're in my life
I'm so glad I'm alive
'Cause you showed me the way
And I know now how good it can be
Because You love me

And now that you're in my life
Oh, I'm so glad I'm alive
'Cause you showed me the way
And I know now how good it can be
Because you love me

I believe in things unseen
I believe in the message of a dream
And I believe in what you are
Because you love me

With all my heart and all my soul
I'm loving you and I never will let go
And every day I'll let it show
Because you love me
Because you love me
Because you love me

atomic kitchen and victogoth everything..

After visiting antique malls to finish my guest room... I realized how much I love the atomic kitchens of the 50's. How the retail industry targetted the women of the 50s with updated kitchenware, and color schemes to make the oh so busy life of an housewife just that much easier. I love every bit of it... and after I found the perfect teacups and saucers for only $5, I was incredibly happy and ready to finish the set.. only to have found that the entire set costs $3,000 and I was incredibly lucky to find what I did. Now I'm torn trying to figure out whether I should just sell the 3 I already have and start a new collection or cheaper china... or stick with it and hope that by the time I'm 50 I'll be able to throw down the $100 for the serving dish.. I dont know.

I've also found this silverware... I must have it! and I will.. I'll slowly collect all of this.

Now on to what I've lovingly named Victogoth..which is the rest of my home haha. I love it but finding a decent cradenza or tv stand for a reasonable price is quite challenging.
In other news, my floors are finished! I'm so excited. It feels like I have a whole new home.

A Zombie Wedding!

Dearly loved friends and relations, I have the honor of welcoming you all to this ceremony, in which we will wed Garrett and Tiffany to each other.

Today I’m going to say a few words about zombies.

Zombies. The shambling ghouls of black and white Saturday matinees and the quick, ravenous monsters of modern horror are all suffering from the same disease – disconnection – from the world around them and from each other.

And aren’t we all there sometimes?

Don’t we shuffle to work, monosyllabic, until we get our caffeine, and then go through the motions of work and house as if completely unaware of other people? Don’t we set our sights on one desire after another, rushing from experience to experience without actually stopping to enjoy any of it?

Haven’t you found yourself staring into space, wishing for just a little more brains?

Garrett and Tiffany were there too and they’ve decided to take the only vaccine that works – they’ve decided to get married. By which I mean they’ve decided to get connected -- unashamedly, unhesitatingly connected -- to each other.

In this they refuse to become numb themselves, they promise to give each other attention, consideration, and kindness – emotions zombies most certainly do not share. They refuse to feed on the heart and mind of the other, agreeing instead to grow those things together and share them equally. And they vow not to allow the other to become a zombie when they aren’t looking – slipping into apathy, numbness, and a maddening hunger. They do these things with the shotguns of their love strapped strongly to their backs and the truncheons of their humor held firmly in their hands.

Together, they will defend their humanity and their home with all the wit, grace, and power of any spunky heroine or over-sized hero.

Together they are an example of what is possible when two people set their sights on the same star. They cut through our 21st century cynicism and prove that, in fact, zombification is not inevitable -- that friendship, love, and desire, when held with both hands, are the only weapons any of us need to stay human.

With the zombies held at bay by their mutual promises, Tiffany and Garrett are ready to face the other monsters of life – defending against the Frankenstein coworkers, the Soul Vampires of false friends, and the Mummy of age itself.

The adventure they are about to embark on has all the magic of any Hollywood movie and all the terror of true Lovecraftian horror – dread Cthulhu has nothing on balancing family Christmases.

But the truest fact is that as long as they stick together, connected to each other, the zombies of life, real and imagined, apathetic and disastrous, cannot harm them.

That said, let’s get married, shall we?

Sadly... the officiant said no to this.. and I'm sure most will.. With the wedding being a month away I cant get anyone ordained. So.. I'll just let this ceremony be the ceremony that couldve been haha.

I'll still have the ceremony of my dreams.. without zombies, and horror movies.. =]

-Tiffany

You walk like a zombie
You talk like a zombie
Its not in your head
You're a living dead
Whatever you're gonna do
You're gonna make me cry

And you wanna hold hands
In the cemetery
And you wanna be lost
For all eternity
And everything is dark
And kind of scary
And you crave the full moon
But i don't care

And you want a mountaintop
With a little castle
And you wanna name our kids
Morticia and fester
And all the flowers you bring
Are always dead
And you howl at the moon
But i don't care

Six feet under
You make me wonder
You wanna be undead
So you can be hunted
But whatever you're gonna do
I'm gonna follow you
